The Apostle Paul was freed after his trial and travelled again. But as Nero grew older he became more interested in his own pursuits than to be a good ruler for the people. Justice was forsaken and many innocent people of those times were wrongfully killed. We are to pray regularly for our leaders.

We're a witness to all people that Christ died for our salvation and that He rose again to give us new life that pleases God. We're to let the whole world know Jesus' great message of finding peace with God through Him.

  A2161 - Peter Denies Jesus (A1690) - When the Holy Spirit convicts us of our unworthy deeds, we feel a sense of guilt that is appropriate. If our conscience is troubling us, the first thing we need to do is admit to ourselves that we did the wrong thing. We then need to confess whatever we've done wrong to Jesus and ask for His forgiveness. God will give us for a fresh start. Like Peter, we all have to learn this lesson.

He created oxygen and liquid water, both of which are vital to the survival of human beings. No other place in the whole universe has been found to have such elements that can support human life.

  A2170 - Eve is Tempted (A1780) - Satan's main area of influence is undermining the truth of God's word. More than ever, the battle in the human mind is the ground where Satan strives to dominate against believers or at least undo their desire to serve God and others. The human mind is the place for the Holy Spirit of God, who dwells in the spirit of a believer, to give and explain the truth of God from His Word, the Bible, to them. To do this though, it's important that the Holy Spirit has full possession of a person's mind.

His godly son Enoch was taken to heaven hundreds of years before the flood. And it will happen again to the godly people who are watching and waiting for the Lord Jesus to take them away from the earth to heaven to avoid worldwide destruction on the earth.

  A2179 - The Tower of Babel (A1789) - The great grandson of Noah, Nimrod served Satan and in many ways was a lot like him. Both Nimrod and Satan wanted to be the top ruler over everyone and so replace the God of Heaven and Earth with their own forms of earthly authority and worship. These idols Nimrod encouraged the people to make for worship displeased God and He changed the people's languages so that the building of the Tower of Babel was never finished.

  A2183 - Abram Rescues Lot (A1793) - War is a terrible thing that destroys people, buildings, food crops, livestock and the sense of community. Abram had given Lot's father a promise to look after Lot when they moved away from the family. Abram was very humble about the victory his small group had achieved because he knew it was God who gave the victory.

  A2187 - Abraham Offers Isaac (A1797) - While the Bible expressly forbids the practise of human sacrifice repeatedly, why would God ask Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac, the heir to Abraham's future kingdom? Offering Isaac on an altar was the hardest test of faith that Abraham ever faced but he came through victoriously because he trusted and obeyed God and His promises. He believed that God could/would raise Isaac from being dead.

  A2192 - Jacob Works for a Wife (A1802) - Just as Jacob tricked his father into giving him Esau's blessing, Laban tricked Jacob into making Jacob marry a woman that he didn't ask for. It was usual for the bridegroom to give the bride's family a marriage gift but Jacob had nothing to give. So he offered 7 years' worth of work in exchange and Laban accepted. So Jacob reaped what he sowed.

  A2196 - The Birth of Jesus (A1600) - Jesus was a descendant of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. In Genesis, Chapter 49, an elderly and almost blind Jacob called his 12 sons together to bless them before he died. He said that the descendants of Judah would always rule. Jesus was a descendent of King David and He would reign for ever and ever in the eternal kingdom of God. What a prediction for a baby!
